A Letter from the Cabinet
We want to welcome you as fellow families in the Scottsdale Prep and Archway community. We look forward to your children joining our own as together they grow in knowledge, friendship, and character. Like us, we know that you will be amazed and grateful for the dedicated teachers and coaches who bring the Great Hearts mission to life every day.
You are joining our community at a historic moment. The campus that is opening the door to families like yours is a long-awaited dream for our students and teachers. It will unlock the full potential of our schools, but we need the help of our families to make this dream a reality.
With the launch of the Better Together capital campaign, we are now ready to take the last steps to have a complete and shared campus worthy of our students and teachers, and worthy of the generations that will follow us.
Like you, we were excited by the announcements last fall about the new combined campus and field. So, when we were asked by Headmasters Chaney and Armstrong to help lead the campaign, we enthusiastically said “yes!” Not because any of us are experts, but because we want to help make this dream a reality alongside all of you.
There were two important questions we had while considering our commitment and personal gifts to the campaign. As new families, we especially want to make sure that you have a good understanding of what makes this campaign so important.
How much is the overall campaign goal, and what will capital campaign contribution funds support?
The campaign goal is $5.72 million, and it will allow us to complete the full vision of our $29 million project. The campaign proceeds will complete our campus, benefitting every facet of school life: our gymnasium and home sports field, the performing arts, the library, the classrooms, as well as student, faculty, and common areas. We will work to secure support primarily from our school families, and possibly from partners in the community.
How is this different from the Community Investment and Tax Credit campaigns in which families already participate every year?
Community Investment and Tax Credit are the annual campaigns necessary to help fund the operational and extracurricular programs of the school. Our Better Together campaign is a one-time effort to build our dream campus. This campaign is a call for every family to make a generous capital gift (which may be paid over 3 years) in addition to your annual giving for Community Investment and Tax Credit.
We need our new families to step forward to make our campaign a success, and we hope that your family will join us. This campaign is a new call for founding families. If we answer the call together, we are certain to reach our goal and make this shared vision a reality.
Enclosed is a list of the available permanent commemorative giving opportunities for your family to consider. It is our hope that every family will support our campaign in a way that is truly meaningful and works for you financially.
